Today: Mushroom Maynia at Burke Museum
Today at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture it’s Mushroom Maynia — a day of talks, exhibits and activities, all about mushroom ecology, identification, cultivation and collection. You can bring your own specimens to be identified, make mushroom hats and spore prints and buy a kit for growing your own oyster mushrooms at home. There are talks on morels, poisoning, commercial growing of mushrooms and more.
A similar event last Fall was a lot of fun. You should go!
Presented by the Burke Museum, the Puget Sound Mycological Society, and the Daniel E. Stuntz Memorial Foundation. This event is included in the price of museum admission ($9.50 adult) and is free to Burke members.
