Citizen Science This Weekend

Metro Parks Tacoma are organizing a BioBlitz event at the Point Defiance Park that starts at 2pm today and ends at 2pm on Saturday. In 24 hours they want to collect and identify as many species of plants, animals, fungi and microbes (!) as possible. They are looking for volunteers to join teams led by biologists and help out with the event. Kids and adults are both welcome. Today is a gorgeous sunny day and tomorrow there’s only a small chance of rain. Get out and do some science!

To participate (obviously, you don’t have to go there for the entire 24 hours), contact Craig Standridge: Work (253) 404-3690; Cell (253-278-4583; E-mail craig.standridge@pdza.org.
